Document translation:

Texts vary in complexity, length and style. We pride ourselves in carefully crafting target texts suited to your audience that are culturally and linguistically accurate as well as context-appropriate and can be understood by any Spanish reader/speaker.

Dinamico Translation utilizes computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools to facilitate reuse of previously translated content stored in our customizable Translation Memory (TM) and avoid having to translate the same text more than once. This translates into cost reduction and improved timelines while maintaining translation consistency throughout your company’s messages.

Current languages offered: English, Spanish (US, Latin America)

Proofreading and Editing:

All translations are meticulously proofread and verified internally by a qualified translator/editor prior to delivery. Upon request, we work with your internal staff in reviewing and editing the translation until reaching consensus on the final product.

Proofreading and editing services for documents from other sources are also available. This can include texts translated by an in-house staff member or other sources –we currently do not accept machine generated translations.

Proofreading and editing: is there a difference? While the proofreading process involves careful revision of a target text for grammar, syntax and spelling errors on the target text, the editing process takes it a step further. Editing involves looking at both the source and target texts to evaluate the quality of the translation in terms of context, consistency and terminology. Our linguists make the appropriate recommendations or implement changes to get the text to the highest level of accuracy and quality possible.

Localization:

Localization is more than translation. It is a translation with a cultural twist. While Spanish is a universal language, it is spoken differently in different parts of the world. A text can be written slightly different for Spanish speakers living in the United States versus those living in Latin American countries. This is why it is always important to ask, who is your target audience? In other words, who will be benefiting from your services, who will be buying your product or who will abide by your rules? Localization involves adapting the text to convey a similar meaning or connotation in the target culture. Idiomatic expressions, metaphors or marketing campaigns can sometimes fall under this category. As a standard practice, our goal is to produce translations that are written in “neutral Spanish” that can be understood by Spanish speakers across countries and cultures. However, sometimes it is necessary to “localize” the content to appeal to a reader’s cultural preferences, for a specific area, in their own language.

OTHER SERVICES:

Quality Assurance

Quality assurance on any written document, for information or publication purposes, is of extreme importance. When working with highly formatted texts, such as those produced by Desktop Publishing software, the final QA process involves reviewing the document for possible typesetting or errors that can potentially arise during the formatting process. Our experts’ systematic approach to quality combined with a keen eye for detail ensure your documents are print ready with the highest degree of quality.

Linguistic QA and Validation

Translations are evaluated for reliability, content, and conceptual equivalence. In clinical or social research, for example, qualitative research instruments such as surveys may have to undergo a forward translation, back translation and final reconciliation process where multiple translators and linguists work together to qualify the instrument’s validity for use in clinical trials across different populations. Similarly, in the marketing world, a company may require expert services to test and perform linguistic QA and validation on their products’ owner manuals, step-by-step instructions, and other technical documents. Our linguists are equipped with the necessary skills to aid in this process and will tailor their services to your needs.

Glossary and Terminology Management

There are multiple words than can have similar meaning: context matters! Glossaries can be effective in eliminating the uncertainty in the translation process and are an excellent way to ensure consistency and quality of translations. We work with your internal staff, review your preexisting materials and style communication guides, if available, to identify common terms and develop a bilingual glossary that captures terminology unique to your company, product, or service.

Style Guides

Style guides can help ensure that future translations are performed under similar style, tone and punctuation and grammatical conventions as previous translations. We can create a customized set of rules for how your organization presents its written materials to its internal or external customers. This may include cultural and language-specific guidelines, such as education level, personal or impersonal mode of communication, translation of key elements such as product names, events, etc., as well as punctuation and grammar preferences.
